In case you missed it, we’ve crowned the winners of our 5th Annual myTalk Awards – congratulations to Donna Valentine & Steve Patterson – they have completed the three-peat with their third consecutive myTalkies win! Make sure you tune in on Thursday, February 19th when they get the day off but we get to enjoy a special broadcast with Melissa Peterman and Colleen Lindstrom. Donna and Steve did what the Kansas City Chiefs failed to do last year in the Big Game with this 3 year sweep. And now this Sunday instead of watching for shots of Taylor Swift cheering on Travis Kelce, we’ll be half watching former Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold while we wait for the halftime show featuring Grammy Award winner Bad Bunny! We’re bringing back The myTalk Award Show for the 5th year! Before we can hand out myTalkies, we have to see who gets nominated, so tune in tomorrow morning — Thursday January 22nd starting at 7:30AM — to hear the draft. Each weekday show will send a representative to join Jason & Alexis on the air to select their candidates in ten different categories. Then we’ll open up the voting to our audience to help us determine who should win! Next week, January 26 -30 we’ll have a group of hosts on the morning show to discuss two different categories each day and try to win your vote for their pick.

Award Show Season is back and so is Nikki Glaser as the host of the Golden Globes coming to CBS this Sunday night! We’ll be tuning in to see how she does with one year under her belt and of course for a vibe check on all the things we’re watching to see who comes out as winners and gauge which films and shows we can maybe delete from our list. Even if our own Brittany of the BK Show disagrees that the holiday season is here, we are going to embrace this snow as we continue on our sleigh ride of Santa Stops. myTalk’s Santa Project is underway and we will be making stops all over town with live shows as we collect gifts and donations to bring to the kids and families staying at the Ronald McDonald House over the holidays! Though the weather outside may seem frightful, these broadcasts will be so delightful — the first 20 listeners at each stop will receive a special myTalk ornament as a thank you when you donate. Don’t leave Giving Tuesday behind, make it a mission all month and come out to help us fill Santa’s sleigh. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

For nearly two decades we’ve been enjoying our “retail reporters” on the radio every Saturday. Allison Kaplan alongside her mom Harmony make up The Shop Girls where they talk fashion trends, celebrity brands, local deals and more. Harmony’s Tech Report is a highlight of every weekend! As is Ali’s amusement at hearing her mom give those tech reports. Besides just insider info on the retail world and everything trendy, they bring laughter, lightness and a chemistry that only a mother-daughter duo could cook up. We appreciate the banter they’ve brought into our cars and homes, and the hot tips on great deals and new places to check out that they’ve provided us over all these years.

Sadly all good things must end and after nearly 20 years of the Shop Girls we are saying goodbye. Instead of talking shopping, Ali & Harmony will now have more time on Saturdays to actually GO shopping and snag those deals they’re always telling us about for themselves.

Please join us in person at Galleria Edina on November 29th from 11am – 1pm to make Shop Small Saturday into a BIG goodbye party for their final broadcast. It’s our Shop Girls Send-Off and it’ll be our kick-off to myTalk’s Santa Project so bring a gift donation for kids and families staying at the Ronald McDonald House over the holidays. And come bid farewell to our Shop Girls – Ali & Harmony!

It’s the season when the nights get dark early, we start to see holiday lights popping up on houses and if you hear Christmas music you either love it or roll your eyes thinking it’s still a little too early for that. We’re one week away from Thanksgiving which is a holiday when we eat to the max. It’s also the season of generosity in Minnesota when we Give to the Max!

This year we’ve partnered with Second Harvest Heartland and Hy-Vee to host a food drive for families facing food insecurity. There are a multitude of factors that makes the need to feed our neighbors greater than ever right now. So we’re rallying our myTalk community to help us put food on the table.

Right now you can make a donation through our myTalk Food for Families GiveMN fundraiser and Second Harvest Heartland will be able to stretch each dollar donated into 3 meals! We’ll also be out at our Hy-Vee partner locations in New Hope and Maplewood on Friday, November 21st from 6am to 6pm broadcasting live and trying to fill two trucks with food donations for Second Harvest Heartland to disperse to our Minnesota community.
